Princess Tarts

  2 Cups Plain Flour
  1 Cup Sugar
  6 oz Margarine
  1 tsp Baking Powder
  a little Milk


Mix all the ingredients together to form a stiff paste and chill.  Roll out on a floured board and cut into rounds.  Place in the wells of a greased tart tin and fill with jam or lemon curd.

Bake in a moderate oven (180°C/350°F or Gas Mark 4) for 15 minutes approximately.

Although my mother made these I could never tell the difference but then as a growing boy it was just food!
